A busy road has reopened ahead of schedule after trees fell and blocked the route.

Hollingbourne Hill in Hollingbourne was closed between Pilgrims Way and Ringlestone Road yesterday morning.

The trees damaged the bank they were in and Kent County Council's highways department said at the time the road could remain closed for several days.

However, this afternoon the key village route has reopened.
