Friends and family of a teenager suffering from an aggressive brain tumour have launched a £200,000 fundraising effort for life-saving treatment in Germany.
Former Aylesford School pupil Jayden Powell was diagnosed with a brain tumour during an eye test in February 2017 and had surgery to remove a 4x4cm growth.
The 17-year-old, from West Malling, had started an apprenticeship building movie sets but was given the devastating news that an even bigger tumour was found during an MRI scan in December.

His dad Steve is now hoping £200,000 can be raised to pay for treatment which wakes up the immune system in an attempt to kill cancer cells.
The film set construction worker said: “Time is running out. He had a good year last year fighting it like anything.
"The NHS can’t do anything now and that’s why we want to get the treatment in Germany.
“They get the tumour and make a vaccine and it kills that specific tumour.”
Jayden’s ordeal began last year when Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust medics missed the tumour after complaints of feeling unwell and severe headaches.
He was taken to King’s College Hospital, London, after an optician at Aylesford Tesco spotted abnormalities and has undergone chemotherapy and radiotherapy.
Father-of-three Mr Powell revealed his son’s weight has plummeted to just 6st 6lbs 42kg and is eager for Jayden to travel for treatment unavailable on the NHS.
He said: “He was quite ill over Christmas. He had chemotherapy and he picked up a couple of infections.
“It is spreading around his head and it is quite stable at the moment. We aren’t giving up. We can’t give up. We have to keep fighting this.”
The fundraising campaign launched on Tuesday (Feb 6) and £8,000 has already been donated towards Jayden’s treatment.
