KENT Police are appealing for information after one person was killed and another injured in a collision on the M20.

The collision, involving a motorcycle, happened on the main London-bound carriageway just after junction 6, the Chatham/Sandling turn-off, near Maidstone.

The tragedy happened at around 2.45pm on Wednesday. The main London-bound carriageway was closed and traffic diverted along the parallel slip road. There was congestion tailing back from the scene of the collision.

The Kent Air Ambulance attended. Police are investigating the cause of the incident.
