A father has been jailed for scarring a man in a "nasty, unpleasant" attack after getting involved in a dispute that did not concern him.

George Goble, of Old Tovil Road, Maidstone, was described by a judge as a "drunk, big, violent man out of control" who is a "danger to the public".

Dominic Connolly, prosecuting, said that Goble, 29, got himself involved in a dispute during a party at a home in Langton Way, Maidstone, in May.

One guest at the party, Aaron Gilbert, went into the home of the next door neighbour, Nigel Brayshaw. Mr Brayshaw escorted him out of the house.

Attacked

But then Goble, who had not been involved in the incident, burst into Mr Brayshaw's home, found him in his bedroom and attacked him from behind. Goble admitted kicking him in the chin.

Mr Brayshaw was knocked unconscious by the attack. Goble then ran outside and attacked a car owned by Mr Brayshaw's sister, headbutting its windows.

Mr Brayshaw was taken to Maidstone Hospital and treated for a 3in wound to his face, which went through his jaw and into his mouth.

He has since moved out of the property.

Goble, who said it was a "revenge attack", was jailed for two years eight months after admitting inflicting grievous bodily harm and criminal damage.

The judge told him: "Whenever there is a prospect of violence, you will smell out trouble. The real aggravating feature is your appalling record - time and time again, nasty, unpleasant violence.”

In May last year, he was given a suspended sentence for punching and stamping on a security guard.
