THE head teacher of one of the top schools in Kent has spoken of his concern after images of boys boxing and ripping clothes off another student in a play fight appeared on the Internet.

Neil Turrell, head teacher of Maidstone Grammar School, has begun a review of mobile phone use in school.

He said: "The Internet can be a dangerous place and we need to give our young people advice about the potential risks."

In the footage a boy is seen to ask "Are you filming me?", which is met with a denial, before there is a shout of "Get him!"

Mr Turrell added: "We were able to identify the 'cameraman' and another student who uploaded the images onto the Internet. They felt it was a bit of fun and did not think of the consequences.

"I have shared my profound disappointment with the boys about their conduct. They agree that it was irresponsible but uncharacteristic behaviour."

The 16-year-old boy in the video insists he was not at all hurt or upset. The film has now been removed from the website.
