The majority of covid testing sites in Kent for people without symptoms are closing today.
People without covid-19 symptoms could book appointments at 12 sites run by Kent County Council, and take a lateral flow test, getting a result within two hours.
The centres were part of a national effort for people without symptoms to get tested regularly, so they are not unknowingly spreading the virus.
However, two of the sites shut last week and eight more are closing today with only two remaining open, as people ordering kits to their homes or businesses becomes more common.
These sites were run in addition to centres for people who have symptoms.
The sites remaining open for those without symptoms are in Ashford at Unit 1 Eurogate Business Park, Thomson Road, and Sessions House in County Hall, Maidstone.
The two which closed on Friday, June 25, were at The Guildhall in Sandwich, and the Sheerness East Working Mens’ Club, in Sheerness.
The eight closing today are:
Canterbury - Sidney Cooper Gallery, 22-23 St Peter's Street
Dartford - Swanscombe Centre Craylands Lane
Folkestone and Hythe - Hawkinge Community Centre, Heron Forstal Avenue, Hawkinge, Folkestone
Gravesham - Milton Haig, Haig Gardens, Gravesend
Sevenoaks - Bat and Ball Centre, Cramptons Road, Sevenoaks
Thanet - The Centre, Birchington, Alpha Road, Birchington
Tonbridge and Malling - The Dray, The Hop Farm, Maidstone Road, Paddock Wood, Beltring, Tonbridge
Tunbridge Wells - The Camden Centre, 1, Market Square, Royal Victoria Place.
Around one in three people with covid-19 have no symptoms. As well as the remaining sites, there are other ways to get tested without symptoms.
