Three fire engines were called after a blaze broke out in an end-of-terrace home.
Emergency services were called to Felderland Close, Maidstone, at around 1.15pm today.
Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to enter the house and used hose reel jets to extinguish the fire, which started on the first floor of the building.
Witness David Stubberfield said he noticed the blaze at around 1.30pm, when he suddenly heard fire engines and commotion outside his window.
He captured a video of the blaze, with smoke seen coming from the upstairs windows, which looked to have been blown out.
The cause is not yet known.
Neighbours had smoke damage to their house as well as soot covering the walls and carpets and water damage from when fire crews fought the flames.
They are yet to check what was lost in the fire in the loft as the fire did reach their roof.
Neighbour Vicky Giles said: “If it wasn’t for the wall being made of brick our house would’ve been on fire too.
“The fire engines turned up just in time as when they got here the fire was just outside our window.
“We now have black carpets black walls and need to check what was lost in the loft.”
