Firefighters spent nine hours at the scene of a fire which threatened to spread to neighbouring properties.
Crews were originally called out to two barns on fire in Chiddingstone, but soon discovered other homes were at risk.
Four appliances and a water unit arrived at the scene in Hampkins Hill Road just before 10pm Saturday and, as well as tackling the initial call-out, used jets to cool neighbouring properties as well as a small drum of oil close to the fire.
Other flammable items were removed from the vicinity of the fire and the barns were allowed to burn out under controlled conditions.
Attendance was reduced to two appliances at around 7am Sunday, but crews remained on scene to carry out a watching brief.
No-one is believed to have been injured.
