Firefighters had to extinguish three fires in a Yalding field last night.

One engine from Paddock Wood station attended the scene at 8.25pm after a canoeist informed them that the field, close to the junction where Hampstead Lane and Lees Road, meet.

They were at the scene for more than 30 minutes and left at 9.10pm.

The witness is believed to have seen youths running away from the scene.

Police have been informed of the incident and ask anyone with information to contact 101.
