Crews are still at the scene of a fire at the Royal British Legion Village industrial site in Aylesford.

The blaze broke out at about 5.45am when pipework fitted to a wood burning boiler overheated.

Sparks flew from the system and triggered a small fire which was attended by pumps from Larkfield and Maidstone.

The building was evacuated as crews used hose reels to put out the flames and a high pressure ventilation system to clear smoke.

They have remained at the site in Hall Road to dampen down remaining hotspots.

The fire caused minimal damage and no one was injured.
