Fire in Snodland

An elderly man needed medical attention after a push chair was set alight in a block of flats.

The man was given oxygen outside a Nevill Place, off Malling Road, Snodland, after he inhaled smoke.

He was taken to Maidstone Hospital but was released hours later.

Kent Fire and Rescue, police and ambulance crews all attended incident, which happened yesterday (Thursday) at 5.30pm.

A fire spokeswoman said the fire had been extinguished within ten minutes.

It is thought the fire was started deliberately.

Kent Police has launched an investigation.
