Chimney fire in Loose near Maidstone

Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a chimney fire at a house in Arran Road, Loose, near Maidstone at around 5.30pm yesterday.

Two fire engines attended, as well as a height vehicle, and crews extinguished the flames using specialist chimney gear and hose reels.

There were no casualties and crews were able to leave the scene after two hours.

Following the incident, firefighters are urging householders to ensure their chimneys and flues are swept and checked regularly, to help reduce the risk of a fire.
