The first acts to appear at Maidstone's newest festival have been revealed.
It won’t be long before people are basking outside as summer music season begins, enjoying music from The Hoosiers and performances from Britain's Got Talent favourites, Diversity, at the Big Day Out - a new music and arts festival.
Characters Marshall and Chase from children's TV show, Paw Patrol, will also entertain younger audiences at the festival's venue, Mote Park.
The day of music and entertainment is on Saturday June 25 and organisers promise more familiar faces to come, in the form of chart topping artists and X Factor celebs.
Pop rock band The Hoosiers, from Berkshire, was part of the announcement as one of the first acts to make up the line-up, and will perform their hits, including Worried About Ray, which reached number five in the UK Singles Chart in 2007.
Maidstone’s biggest park is no stranger to events of this magnitude, as it has opened its gates to thousands in the past – welcoming acts such as Madonna for Radio 1’s Big Weekend in 2008, and it will welcome back Ramblin’ Man Fair following its successful debut last year.
Aimed at families, CBeebies presenters and characters, including Marshall and Chase from Nickelodeon show, Pet Patrol, will be appearing - along with a children’s play area which will be constructed
Also appearing are street dance troupe Diversity, who won the third series of Britain's Got Talent in 2009.
The day will also have a beer, ale and cider tents, world food stalls.
The Social dance music festival was held in Mote Park in 2014 and 2015 but is moves to the Kent Showground this year.
Laura Dickson, Maidstone council’s marketing and sales manager, said: “We are delighted Mote Park is the chosen venue for this music festival aimed at families.
“The interest in it is immense and we expect the tickets will sell out very quickly.”
The organisers revealed its location and date on its Facebook page.
