A town centre’s restaurant hotspot is set to welcome one of the biggest American burger chains following the submission of a planning application.

Five Guys is set to move into a unit in Earl Street, Maidstone, but must first get planning permission from the borough council before it can become a reality.

Burgers, hot dogs and French fries will be served up at the restaurant earmarked for the former Love Sushi site.

While Maidstone Borough Council is still waiting for a full planning proposal, an application has been submitted for signage outside the restaurant will be close the entrance of Fremlin Walk.

There are currently just two Five Guys restaurants in Kent situated in Broadstairs and Bluewater.

There is currently no estimated date of opening.
