A family of eight who were living in a one-bedroom flat have been rehoused after eight years of trying.
Maggie and Gavin Flisher were sharing their tiny Park Wood property with their six children, aged from eight to three months.
The family had been bidding for bigger homes, but were barred from applying for anything smaller than a rare four-bed home.
However, the years of trying have finally paid off and the Flishers have now moved into a spacious four-bed home elsewhere in Maidstone.
Now the parents have a room with their twin babies Martinjames and Paris Nicola, while daughters Elektra and Lilyrose share.
The biggest winners are Lacieann and Gavinjunior, who get rooms to themselves.
Mrs Flisher said: "We're very pleased to be in. I had to pay for the move myself, so it took us three weeks."
The Flishers' story sparked a national outcry with many tabloid newspapers accusing the out-of-work couple of being irresponsible and a drain on the welfare system.
