Walkers are safe to leave their wellies at home after a flooded town centre underpass was finally drained.

As reported in last week’s KM, the subway outside the new Bridges bar had been submerged in rainwater for nearly two months making it impassable to pedestrians crossing Maidstone Bridge to and from the High Street.

KCC said work was carried out to clear the water and the subway was drained on Friday.
