Homes across West Kent are now at risk of flooding.
In total seven warnings have been issued, with Little Venice, Yalding, West Farleigh, Collier Street, Horsmonden, Paddock Wood and Laddingford at risk.
The news comes as parts of Kent face 24 hours of torrential downpours with 30mm of rain forecast tonight and tomorrow.
The Environment Agency has warned that it is likely more alerts and warnings will be issued with residents urged to check for updates at www.gov.uk/check-if-youre-at-risk-of-flooding.
Many residents are hoping they won't see a repeat of the serious flooding that hit parts of Kent over Christmas in 2013.
Tim Connell, Area Duty Manager for the Environment Agency, said: “Our staff are working hard to minimise flood risk by clearing debris from streams and culverts, closing flood gates and checking flood defences and other structures. I would encourage communities across Kent to be aware of the risk of flooding.
“We are continuing to monitor the situation closely, working alongside partners, including the Met Office and local authorities, and will issue alerts and warnings as required.
“Now is a good time to think about your risk of flooding. You can find out if you are at risk at the gov.uk website, where you can also sign up to Flood Warnings and make a flood plan. Alternatively you can call Floodline Warnings Direct on 0345 988 1188.”
