Allotment holders say their crops are being flooded after road resurfacing work led to tarmac blocking up drains in a village.
Residents in Leeds, near Maidstone have been left frustrated by Kent County Council and say the problem, which has been ongoing for several months, has still not been dealt with.
Denis Stevens said the problem arose on the B2163 Lower Street back in March, when contractors working for the highways authority resurfaced the road without covering over the drain gullies.
As a result, one near Leeds Primary School became blocked with excess tarmac and now the road floods every time there is a heavy downpour.
Mr Stevens, 80, has lived in Leeds since 2004 and has worked an allotment close to the blocked drain for the past 12 years.
He said: "Now when it rains, it just floods into the allotments. A path we had created to move our wheelbarrows more easily has been washed away, and my crops are often flooded and sometimes under two inches of water."
"I first complained on March 28 and received a report reference number from Kent Highways.
"They said they would be out straight away."
Mr Stevens said: "Since then I've rung back several times, only to be told that someone would get in touch with me, someone would be out to fix it, but nothing happens."
KentOnline contacted KCC last Wednesday to ask about the problem and was told repairs were being carried out that day.
But a photograph taken at 6pm the following evening showed the gully was still blocked.
A KCC spokesman said today they would investigate to clarify the latest situation.
