A football match will be held in memory of a fundraiser who died during a triathlon.
Paul Gallihawk, of Postmill Drive, Tovil, drowned during the 750m swimming leg of the Ocean Lake Triathlon at Leybourne Lakes, Larkfield, in August.
The 34-year-old, who had epilepsy, was competing in his first triathlon. His body was found three days later.
Now Mr Gallihawk’s friend, Jordan Malet, has organised a charity football match between Whitehawks FC, which Paul set up two years ago, and friends, including Maidstone United manager Jay Saunders.
The Legacy of Paul Gallihawk Testimonial Match will be held at the Gallagher Stadium in James Whatman Way on Friday, November 13, at 7pm.
There will also be a raffle and a silent auction, with proceeds going to King’s College Hospital and Epilepsy UK.
Tickets are £5 and are available here.
Last month an inquest and gave the cause of Mr Gallihawk’s death as immersion with epilepsy as a contributing factor.
