A former council family centre has been sold at auction for more than £100,000 above its guide price.
The vacant Larkfield Family Support Centre, in Martin Square, Larkfield, was among 141 other lots listed by auctioneers Clive Emson.
The 0.38-acre site, off Kingfisher Road, was marketed as having possible redevelopment potential, subject to the necessary permissions being obtained.
It was put up with a guide price of £400,000 and sold for £519,000.
Auctioneer Kevin Gilbert said: "Clearly bidders saw the potential here, which was why it went for so much above the guide.
"It is close to the Martin Square shops, health centre, library and other amenities. We had a number of serious bidders and it shows that for the right site the market is in rude health."
The freehold for a detached bungalow, in Lenham Road, Kingswood, was also sold for £324,000 – £34,000 more than the asking price.
Also at the sale was Hill View in Peel Street, Maidstone, a detached three bedroom home in need of modernisation. The freehold sold for £200,000.
There were also several blocks of garages in and around Maidstone offered at auction.
One site offering 10 lock-ups, off Lodge Gardens in Ulcombe, had a guide price of £65-70,000 but went for £121,000.
Another block of four lock-ups, at McAlpine Crescent, Loose, sold for £48,500.
