Chemical manufacturers from Maidstone and Malling are doing their bit for the community by giving away free products during the Covid-19 crisis.
Jennychem, a family run business in Snodland, stepped up its production of hand sanitiser after demand for the product went through the roof when lockdown was called.
At one point, the factory on Sortmill Road said it was producing around 20,000 bottles each week.
Staff worked tirelessly to produce the products which it then donated to dozens of schools, groups and charities in need.
Hand gel and wall dispensers were given to the Heart of Kent Hospice in Aylesford, Paddock Wood medical centre, Maidstone hospital and the Air Ambulance to name a few.
Now it wants to do the same with its new stock of personal protective equipment (PPE).
Managing Director, Jenny Callen, said: "We’d like to thank everybody for the kind responses we received during our last donation campaign.
"We would like to extend this offer by donating 5,000 protective face masks to local charities who are in need. It is really important to us that we help our local community during this crisis.
"We run a 24-hour operation at the Jennychem factory to keep up with the demand. We are manufacturing hand sanitiser, antibacterial sprays, hand soaps and other Covid-19 protection products around the clock."
Diamondbrite in West Farleigh has also switched half of its production to making antibacterial cleaning products.
The business on Ewell Lane has been donating to NHS sites and businesses across the UK including Kent Probation service in Folkestone.
Marketing Director, Lance Boseley, said: "We saw an issue with the availability of hand sanitiser at the very start, and as a chemical manufacturer, knew we could help.
"We have shifted 50% of our production over to these new products and have been able to supply doctors surgeries and nurses at local hospitals free of charge."
