A large fuel spillage caused delays heading into Maidstone this morning.

Diesel leaked onto the southbound carriagway of Blue Bell Hill, between the Shell garage and junction six for the M20, at about 8am.

The incident caused minor tailbacks as Kent Highways worked at the scene.

The flammable liquid was cleared by 8.45am.
