POLICE have launched an investigation after hooded gang members hit a 19-year-old man and two boys with bricks in a violent assault.

The 19-year-old had earrings torn from his ears in the attack in the alleyway off Hackney Road, Maidstone.

He had been walking with a 16-year-old from Ditton and a 14-year-old boy from Maidstone when they were approached by a group of about 15 young people.

The three victims were told to stop, but they refused and were set upon.

A brick was also used to attack the 16-year-old, who suffered a cut to the back of the head.

He was wearing a dark-coloured waterproof jacket with the hood up and blue jeans. Other members of the group were described as wearing hooded tops.

All three victims went to Maidstone Hospital for treatment. The incident happened on Friday, February 9, at about 8.30pm.
