Plans have been submitted to demolish double garage to build a four-bedroomed detached house in its place.
The plot is on the corner of Loose Road and Anglesey Avenue, Maidstone.
Submitted drawings show the new house as having three bedrooms on the second floor and another bedroom in the loft space. The house would be the same height as the existing home.
After the project, both houses would have outside parking on a front forecourt with room for two vehicles each.
The site previously had a large magnolia tree in the front garden but that has already been felled.
This part of the Loose Road is unparished, but planning applications are scrutinised by the North Loose Residents' Association.
Chairman Sean Carter said: "This application will certainly be of interest to many residents and we shall be looking at it very closely."
The application can be seen on the Maidstone council website here.
