A gas leak has closed a main road in both directions.

The A26 Tonbridge Road, in Teston, near Maidstone, has been shut for emergency gas repairs.

The closure spans between Teston Lane and Priorsdean Close.

It is reported there had been a gas leak between Mereworth and Maidstone.
