A 15-year-old girl is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after being struck by a car.

Police say the girl stepped out into the road in New Cut Road, Maidstone, and was in collision with a dark coloured Ford KA. The incident happened at about 9pm on Friday.

The girl was taken to Maidstone Hospital. A police spokeswoman said today: "Her injuries are being treated as life threatening."
