A teenage girl is in hospital after jumping from the roof of a multi-storey car park in Maidstone last night.

The incident happened at King Street Car Park in the Town Centre.

Police confirmed trained negotiators were called at 7.30pm to try and talk the 15-year-old down from the top of the six-storey building.

She reportedly jumped at about 9.45pm.

She was taken to King’s College Hospital in London with non-life threatening injuries.

The Town Centre remained cordoned-off around King Street for several hours while police dealt with the incident.
