A TOWN centre church is glittering with the lights of more than 20 decorated Christmas trees.

Each of the trees at the United Reformed Church, Week Street, Maidstone, has been decorated by a charity or society from the area in what has now became an anual event.

The tree festival was opened by the Mayor of Maidstone, Cllr Richard Ash, who also joined worshippers for the carol service.
