Pupils were in for a treat when Nick Grimshaw hijacked their assembly this orning.

Youngsters at Valley Park School, in Huntsman Lane, Maidstone, were invited to watch the radio DJ present his show live from their main hall.

He was joined by The 1975, an Indie four-piece, and comedian Joe Lycett.

The school's band, New Art Riot, stole the limelight when they were joined by classmates Samantha Sharpe and Joe Andertone, both 17, who sang a version of Rihanna's hit Diamonds.
