The building is on the ground floor corner of Star House, a five-storey block, built in 1934.

It lies within the Maidstone Conservation Area but, like all the propoerties in Pudding Lane, it is not listed.

Mr Dimitri says there will be no changes to the outside other than the installation of a filtered clean air flue from the kitchen on the “side rear” elevation.

The building was most recently Headonism Hair Salon and before that was a tailor’s.

Mr Dimitri says the proposal will generate one full-time and two part-time jobs and he is seeking permission to operate between noon and midnight every day of the week.
