A road in Headcorn was closed this morning after a car collided with a telegraph pole.

Water Lane was shut near the junction with Black Mill Lane.

Police and BT engineers were at the scene.

Kent County Council's highways team warned drivers: "Please use an alternative route and expect delays in the area."

The collision happened at about 7.20am and the road remained closed until 2pm as the pole was blocking the carriageway.

No serious injuries have been reported.

BT said the pole has been replaced so any services that may have been affected will have already been restored.
