A heating fan is thought to be the cause of a house fire on Sunday.
Five fire engines and a height vehicle were sent out to Murrain Drive, Downswood yesterday, just before 11am.
Two residents were already outside suffering with smoke inhalation.
Heading inside, firefighters discovered one bedroom was well alight, with flames spreading across the landing and down the stairs.
After tackling the blaze for nearly two hours, the scene was declared safe at 12.40pm.
Both residents were passed into the care of Secamb paramedics.
