A man is being questioned by police over allegations of controlling behaviour following a helicopter search last night.

The 23-year-old, from Maidstone, was arrested just before 9pm after a chopper spent half an hour hovering over Senacre and Otham.

He is currently in custody on suspicion of coercive and controlling behaviour following a 'domestic incident' in White Horse Lane.

Controlling and coercive behaviour is a relatively new offence which relates specifically to intimate or family relationships.

For an offence to be recorded an individual must do acts which cause the victim to fear violence or be impacted on a daily basis.
