A heroin dealer who disguised a stun gun as an iPhone has been jailed for almost eight years.
Stephen Smith was stopped by police in September 2014 after being spotted acting suspiciously in Palace Avenue, Maidstone.
Heroin and cocaine were found in the 25-year-old's car, along with three mobile phones.
On further inspection officers found one of the devices was in fact a fully charged stun gun capable of incapacitating a person.
"The recovery of an electronic stun device disguised as an iPhone was a particularly concerning element of this investigation, and if used could have had lethal consequences." — Det Insp James Derham
Smith, of Hart Dyke Road, Swanley, had been in possession of almost 11 grams of cocaine and around 24 grams of heroin.
At Maidstone Crown Court last week he was jailed for a total seven years and eight months.
He had previously pleaded guilty to possessing heroin and cocaine with intent to supply and to possessing a concealed weapon.
Det Insp James Derham said: "Smith was arrested as a result of some excellent proactive policing by officers. The resulting searches found a significant quantity of Class A drugs, which were clearly being distributed in the Maidstone area. The recovery of an electronic stun device disguised as an iPhone was a particularly concerning element of this investigation, and if used could have had lethal consequences.
"I'm very pleased the court has recognised the devastating impact drugs have on local communities. This is a significant sentence and one which supports our on-going efforts to deal robustly with anyone involved in the supply of drugs."
