Homes in part of the county were left without water for hours.
Problems in Barming, near Maidstone, resulted in many residents unable to use their showers or taps since 11am.
South East Water revealed it has problems at its Hermitage Lane site, close to Maidstone Hospital, and things weren't expected to be resolved until around 4pm.
A spokesman said: "We currently have issues at our site which means we are currently unable to pump water.
"You may therefore be experiencing no water or low water pressure.
"We would like to apologise for any inconvenience caused and reassure customers that we are working hard to fix the issue as quickly as possible."
People in the ME16 postcode area have reported problems online.
Nick Bell, South East Water's head of operations, said: “We are really sorry to any customers in the Barming area who experienced no water or low water pressure earlier today.
“This was due to an issue with our booster station which pumps drinking water to the area. Our Technicians swiftly repaired the fault and all customers in the area should now have their normal water supply.
