They are the unsung heroes of the health service that can make a hospital stay that bit easier for patients and their families.
And if you know of someone that goes the extra mile we want to hear from you.
The Hospital Hero award is back and applies to staff and volunteers working in hospitals in Maidstone and Pembury.
Every year the Kent Messenger presents an accolade nominated by our readers. It is handed over at the Maidstone and Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust’s staff awards.
Last year the intensive care team won the Hospital Hero honour for their care of reader Ricky Flynn when he suffered complete renal failure.
They also supported his family during an anxious six-day stay at the unit.
To put forward an individual volunteer or a team, write to Hospital Hero Award, Kent Messenger, 6 & 7 Middle Row, Maidstone, ME14 1TG, or email messengernews@thekmgroup.co.uk by Friday, October 18.
The ceremony will be held at the Hop Farm Family Park in Paddock Wood on Friday, November 15.
