Police are questioning a man on suspicion of arson after a house fire in Sutton Valence last night (Monday, January 17).

Fire crews were called to the house in South Bank, Sutton Valence at just before 5.30pm. The fire was in the bedroom.

One man was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, but no one had to be taken to hospital.

Fire crews ventilated the property once the blaze had been put out.

Police later arrested a man who is currently being held at Maidstone Police Station.
