Actor Hugh Grant could be among a star-studded line up of cricketers set to entertain crowds when Lashings World XI take on House of Lords/Commons XI next month.

The actor is known for his love of cricket and has been named alongside cricket greats like Phil DeFreitas, Devon Malcolm, Saqlain Mushtaq, Mohammad Yousuf, Chris Harris, and Henry Olonga, as part of the provisional Lashings squad set to take on the parliamentary opposition at Sutton Valence School on Sunday, September 4.

The parliamentary opposition includes Gillingham and Rainham MP Rehman Chishti, as well as MPs Nigel Adams and John Redwood.

A VIP ticket for the 2.30pm match and to lunch with the stars at midday costs £50. Standard tickets cost £5 per person. All proceeds to the 36 Engineer Memorial Statue Appeal.
