A Maidstone dog walker is hoping to hypnotise audiences when she appears on a wacky new gameshow this weekend.
Natalie Deadman, 23, took part in ITV’s You’re Back in the Room, where five strangers take on apparently simple challenges to win a share of £25,000.
In an unusual twist, each has been hypnotised, and given triggers which cause them to inadvertently sabotage their chances.
In the show on Saturday Miss Deadman is asked to paint a picture, collect prawns from a sushi conveyor belt, answer quiz questions and take part in trials with contestants from I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here!
But in the chaos that follows, entranced Natalie willingly joins some snakes for a party, after being made to think they are her favourite music stars.
In another trial, believing she is a physiotherapist, she shows the audience where the gluteus maximus is, using bemused host Phillip Schofield to demonstrate.
Natalie, of Sutton Road, said: “When I had my head in with the snakes I thought I was partying with Beyonce and Jay Z. I couldn’t believe I’d done it .
“The point where I slapped Phillip Schofield on the bum was the most embarrassing – I definitely wouldn’t do that normally!
“I’m quite reserved and polite and if I met a celebrity I’d be too starstruck to say anything.”
Natalie, who set up Doddies Canine Care Company, was selected for the show after three auditions to determine how susceptible she was to hypnotism .
She said: “I’d seen other people being put under and thought it was a bit wacky and thought they were acting, so I was sceptical about the whole thing.
“To me it felt like being drunk. I was aware of what I was doing but I completely lost my inhibitions. It was fun and entertaining and I would recommend it.
“I’m really excited to see the show. I’ve invited my friends around for a party .”
You’re Back in the Room airs on ITV1 on Saturday at 8.25pm.
