A furious dog owner has slammed authorities for not doing anything after her border terrier was attacked by another dog for a second time.
Frances Fewtrell was walking her eight-year-old dog, Bob, in the woods between Park Wood and Boughton Monchelsea, Maidstone when a collie type dog attacked, biting her and her dog in the process.
The 57-year-old said it's the second time in three years her dog has been bitten by the "out of control" collie.
She said: "Three years ago I reported it to the dog warden, but nothing happened. It's attacked quite a few dogs in the area and it's supposed to be kept on a lead.
"This time we were kicking a ball about in the woods along by the stream when it charged at us from one of the paths and launched an attack on my dog.
"I charged after it and pulled it away and it bit me in the process. Last month the same dog apparently went for a toddler.
"Blood was running down Bob's back leg and I got him home and to the vets immediately where he was sedated, shaved, cleaned up and had one of had four wounds stitched.
'If he was any older it would've killed him...'
"The dog is an absolute menace and it’s only a matter of time before it kills someone. The attack on my loving, sweet boy will haunt me for the rest of my life.
"His open wound has only just stopped leaking. My kitchen resembles a pharmacy. We have to go back to see the vet for a post op check up.
Ms Fewtrell, who lives in Boughton Monchelsea, revealed a deep puncture wound has been left un-stitched as it would have "swollen too much", according to the vet.
She added: "He's now on loads of medication. My beloved border terrier was left with serious injuries and I got bitten chasing the dog.
"I think police have closed the case, despite me telling them everything about the dog and owner.
"It's attacked us before and I reported it to the warden and authorities. I have no faith in our police anymore. I want justice for my gentle, loving boy.
"If he was any older it would've killed him."
The incident happened on Monday, October 25 at around 2.15pm and police say they are investigating it.
Inspector Steve Kent, of the Maidstone community safety unit, said: "Our officers are investigating a report that a black and white collie being walked by a man in Boughton Monchelsea, caused injuries to a woman and her own dog in Roman Way.
"The incident happened on Monday and an officer has since been in contact with the victim. We are appealing for any witnesses or anybody with information that may assist the investigation, to call our appeal line."
Ms Fewtrell said she is liasing with the community warden and dog warden about the attacks.
