Police called to Detling Showground after reports security guard hit by van

An investigation has been launched after a security guard was reportedly hit by a van at the Kent County Show.

Police were called to the Detling Showground at 5.20pm yesterday to an alleged assault.

A spokesman for police said: “It is alleged a van being driven towards an exit came into contact with a member of security staff.”

No injuries were reported but police are now looking into the circumstances.

The spokesman added that “officers have spoken to all parties and enquiries are ongoing”.

The three-day annual Kent County Show focuses on farming, agriculture, and countryside life.
