POLICE discovered that two children who were caught drunk in a Kent town had been given the alcohol by their mother.
Officers found the youngsters, aged 13 and 15, "heavily intoxicated" outside Maidstone's Mote Park on Saturday night.
Their mother later admitted buying beer for them and was handed a fine of £80.
Licensing officer Barbara Murray said: "This behaviour is completely irresponsible.
"If we are sending out a message to our children that drinking to excess is acceptable then it's also likely that booze-fuelled anti-social behaviour will also increase.
"I want to issue a warning to parents that incidents like this will be regarded very seriously."
