A princess-themed event returned to a town centre for adults and children to enjoy.

There was magic and sparkles as Snow Princess Parties held a picnic in the park at Brenchley Gardens, Maidstone.

The free event had live music performances, party games and plenty of photo opportunities.

Children of all ages were able to meet and interact with beloved fairytale characters – including six Disney-inspired princesses.

Tiaras were also awarded to those who had dressed up best for the occasion.

The picnic took place last Wednesday (August 14), between 11am and 1pm.

In August 2022, the children’s entertainment company held its first parade in the town.

A number of familiar faces were videoed walking along Maidstone High Street – stopping at Jubilee Square, Week Street and Brenchley Gardens to greet fans.

Regional director Kelsey Parker said: “Our princess parades began across the UK during lockdown.

“It was our small way of bringing magic to the community.

“At the time, all we could do was greet the kids outside their houses and give them a big wave.

“It feels so lovely now to be able to accept those warm hugs and continue doing something free for the community and for parents who are unsure of what to do in the summer holidays.

“We’ve done a parade every year in Maidstone since 2022 and with our incredible crew of princesses and superheroes, the event just seems to keep getting bigger and bigger.”

Kelsey, from Snodland, was just 22 years old when she became the franchise owner for the Kent region of Snow Princess Parties.

She says they are already busy arranging another date in the diary for next year’s event.

“Every weekend we get the pleasure of doing princess parties entertaining up to 30 kids, but to be able to entertain hundreds in one day is the highlight of our summer,” Kelsey added.

“There’s something so special about walking into these events and seeing the delight on the kid's faces. It’s pure magic to them.”
