It's a Strictly medley

By Rhona Jamieson and Mary Graham

Its been several weeks of fox-trotting, tangoing and practising fancy footwork.

Not Strictly Come Dancing, but our exclusive web tutorials featuring a Maidstone-based dance teacher showing the basics of all the dances you see on the show.

Margaret Preedy, who has a studio in Tonbridge Road, Maidstone, has taken kentmessenger.co.uk readers through the basic moves of both ballroom and latin dances.

She will be one of many watching Saturday night’s final with intense interest, as Ola Jordan, the wife of her former pupil James Jordan (pictured below) has made it through to the final with her dance partner, BBC Breakfast sports presenter Chris Hollins, who lives in Sevenoaks.

The Jordans are both professional dancers on the BBC1 show. They live in the Kings Hill area and are regular visitors to Margaret’s studio.

This week James spoke to the Kent Messenger about the show.

He said: "It is the first time one of us has made it this far and I’m very proud of Ola. I will be keeping my fingers crossed.

"During the show we tend to have to stay up in London and we have hardly been in Kent.

"Fortunately we have a lovely neighbour who nips round the shops and gets some food in if she knows we are going to be back.

"We will get a few days off over Christmas, then rehearsals will start for the Strictly tour in early January, which will be hectic, but a lot less stressful than the TV shows."

Margaret, who plans to watch the show on TV from her studio, added: "Many of my pupils have seen the KM web tutorials and have said they have enjoyed them."

So it just remains to say: "Keep Dancing!"
