Maidstone boss Jay Saunders is keen for his side to continue on the goal trail when they travel to Kent Hurlimann League minnows Corinthian in the FA Cup this weekend.
After failing to register in their opening two games in Ryman League Division 1 South, the Stones sparked into life with a five-goal haul at Crawley Down last Saturday.
Saunders (pictured) said: "We had created chances in the previous games, just not taken them. I always knew that if we kept creating them then the goals would come, and they did on Saturday."
New striker Shaun Welford was the main beneficiary with a hat-trick. Saunders revealed: "I said to Shaun when I was trying to sign him that with Alex Flisher and Ellis Green in our team the ball would be coming into the box and he would get chances – to see the plan working on Saturday was good to see."
Saunders insisted the trip to Corinthian on Saturday would not be straightforward.
He added: "It will be a tough game, FA Cup games always are. On paper we’re probably stronger but that doesn’t mean a thing once the game starts.
"If we want to get through it we have to have the right attitude and show them respect.
"I’ve had some good cup runs as a player down the years. You always enjoy them as a player, playing against better players and at nicer stadiums."
