Jury discharged in county lines drug trial

Six men accused of involvement in county lines drug-dealing are facing a retrial after the jury was discharged.

Woolwich Crown Court heard two teenage girls were enslaved to sell Class A drugs to addicts in Maidstone between June and July last year.

The girls, aged 16, were allegedly taken to the town, via a flat in Gravesend, from London and ordered to deal crack cocaine and heroin.

A flat at Midhurst Court in Mote Road, Maidstone, was said to have been used as a base.

A judge halted the case on Thursday for legal reasons. He made an order that the addresses of the defendants or the area in which they live should not be published at this stage.
