Kent’s two candidates in The Apprentice have survived another week in the BBC One show.
It was the first time neither Felipe Alviar-Baquero, from Kings Hill, or Solomon Akhtar, a former Tunbridge Wells school boy, faced the sack in Lord Sugar’s boardroom - despite being in different teams for the first time.
Mr Alviar-Baquero, who led the all-male Team Summit to defeat in the first episode, was moved to the previously all-female Team Tenacity.
The groups were competing to make the most money from selling a scented candle and reed diffuser, which they created themselves.
Despite producing a seemingly inferior product, Mr Alviar-Baquero finished the episode as a winner for the first time.
This week saw a 5.45am wake-up call prompt the candidates to meet Lord Sugar at the Royal Exchange, in central London.
Team Tenacity chose Katie Bulmer-Cooke as leader and created a fragrance consisting of Chinese green tea, Thai lemongrass and African aloe vera.
Despite the foreign ingredients, they named it British Breeze.
Solomon Akhtar, a former pupil at the Skinners School, stayed with Team Summit who created a candle and reed diffuser that smelled of the seaside.
They aptly called it Beach Dreams and marketed it as a high end product.
This impressed Lord Sugar, who said it was a good product, and a five star hotel was impressed that it came in a square glass.
British Breeze on the other hand was described by Lord Sugar as custard in a glass and failed to impress a pub landlord, who said he preferred the smell of beer.
Despite receiving high praise, Summit paid the price of selling their superior product too cheap.
They made a profit of £1,569.32, a whisker less than Tenacity’s £1584.09.
That led to Mr Akhtar’s third defeat in a row but prompted some awkward dance moves from a jiving Felipe – who was off for a day at the spa.
There was drama before Roisin Hogan, this week’s team leader of Summit, called in her team’s two weak links to face a grilling from Lord Sugar.
Lord Sugar fired an under performing Lindsay Booth before Ms Hogan had a chance to make a decision, but she eventually brought back James Hill and Nurun Ahmed.
Despite being described as a Jack the lad by Lord Sugar, and selling the products too cheaply, Mr Hill survived, with Ms Ahmed getting the chop for not showing she had what it takes to lead a big business.
Next week the contestants will create an online video channel.
The episode will air on BBC One at 9pm on Wednesday, October 29.
