It's only a few weeks to go before one of Kent's biggest events of the year.
The Kent County Show returns to the Kent Showground in Detling on Friday, July 10, for three days and promises to have some high-flying entertainment.
Among the 150 different activities, workshops, displays and competitions which will be staged on the Friday, Saturday, July 11, and Sunday, July 12, will be the Red Arrows display team lighting up the skies above the showground on the first day.
Show manager Lucy Hegarty said: “The Kent County Show has listened carefully to our visitors and now has more entertainment, displays and activities to make it a real value for money day out. We try very hard to give our visitors a unique experience and returning visitors find something new to watch each year, as well as returning to see their favourite displays.”
The showground has three dedicated equine rings, where the large number of horse and pony competitors will compete to win rosettes, trophies or to qualify for the national Horse of the Year Show. There will also be the Heavy Horse Village where the shire, working and Metropolitan Police horses with be on view and stabled.
The main display arena, the Astor Ring, will feature displays, show jumping and the Grand Parade of Livestock, while overhead on all three days the Biggin Hill Heritage Spitfire will be staging a flypast.
In the Countryside Area there will be traditional falconry displays, working dogs, terrier racing, dogs and ducks display and the Husqvarna UK Pole Climbing Championships, which debuted at last year's event.
In the woodland area, there will be wood carving demonstrations, working horses, rural crafts and the Kent Beekeepers Association, while the ever-popular Heritage Ring has a full agenda with different vehicles being displayed in the ring throughout the day. Once a day, vintage vehicles will parade to the Astor Ring.
Kent Young Farmers from 10 to 26 will be showing their carefully prepared livestock and the Fur and Feather Marquee and Kent Poultry Club marquee will allow visitors to see chickens, ducks and rabbits. Why Farming Matters in Kent will feature a number of cookery demonstrations and in the Agricultural Area there will be the popular shearing displays and Bob Hogg's Lamb National.
Back by popular demand is the 7ft giant, Titan the Robot and new this year will be free donkey rides and circus workshops.
The KM Media Group will be joining forces with Kent Scouts again for the third year running, with a mobile caving unit for intrepid explorers to delve into. There will also be a team of face painters on hand. The Scouts will also have a climbing wall for people to try their hand at.
There'll also be a chance to bring some larger than life characters alive with our app, which will be available to download at the stand and has featured dinosaurs, military vehicles and classic cars and planets. kmfm will be at the showground each day and there'll also be a red carpet where you can have your photo taken with the stars.

A family ticket for two adults and two children between five and 15 costs £41 in advance or £48 on the gate. Children under 5 go free and parking is free. Adult tickets cost £18.50 in advance and £22 on the gate, with concessions costing £13 when bought online and £15 on the gate. A child's ticket is £5 in advance and £6 on the gate.
The show is open between 8am and 6pm each day, although food stands will stay open later.
