A MARRIED couple from Kent were among eight British tourists killed in a minibus crash in South Africa on New Year's Eve. They have been named as Stephen and Marion Moon, who lived in Maidstone.

The tragedy occurred when a mentally ill local man ran in front of the Mercedes Benz Strinter they were travelling in on a road in the Royal Natal National Park.

The driver veered to miss the man but he was hit and killed by the minibus's trailer, carrying luggage and camping equipment.

Six passenger died instantly when the Mercedes overturned. Two more died later.
