A Kent MP has been handed a new role in the Conservative Party.
Helen Whately, who represents Faversham and Mid Kent, has been chosen as the party's vice-chair for women after Maria Caulfield stepped down from the role in protest to Theresa May's recent Brexit plans.
Mrs Whately also chairs the All Party Parliamentary Groups for Mental Health and Fruit & Vegetable Farmers and has been a Parliamentary Private Secretary to the Conservative Party Chairman Brandon Lewis.
Mr Lewis said: "I know Helen will bring tremendous energy to her new role."
Mrs Whately has represented her constituency since 2015.
